Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 October 2026. Content reviewed 27 October 2026 for beta and device wording. This policy covers the FinSociety desktop application, this website, and our licence and notification services.

1. What we collect

When you order a licence: your name, Gmail address, WhatsApp number (required), and chosen plan, submitted through the order page on this site. Your payment itself is processed by PhonePe, and its confirmation is how we issue your licence key and contact you about it.

When you sign up for free beta access: your name, Gmail address, and WhatsApp number (required), used only to issue and manage your free beta key and to help you recover it.

When you activate the app: your licence key, email address and a device identifier. This binds your key to one Windows desktop, so a copied key can’t be reused elsewhere. If you change machines, contact support to reset your device binding.

When you use the app:

• Licence validation checks (key, email, device) against our licence server.
• Exam start and finish events: your name, email, exam details (track, level, mock, session) and your score on finish, sent to our notification service for issuance records and support.
• Your mock attempts, answers and analytics are stored locally on your machine. They are not uploaded to our servers.

When you contact support: your email and whatever you include in the message.

This website: we run no advertising trackers and no third-party analytics on these pages. The announcement banner and the status indicator in the footer make anonymous requests to our licence server (no personal data is sent).

2. What we don’t collect

• We don’t sell your data to anyone, ever.
• We don’t collect payment card or bank details; payments are processed by PhonePe, between you and your payment app or bank.
• We don’t upload your question answers, scratchpad content or study history.

3. Third-party services

• WhatsApp: if you give us your WhatsApp number at checkout or beta signup, we use it only to deliver your licence key and order or beta updates, and to help with key recovery. Our community groups live on WhatsApp; their own privacy policies apply once you join.
• Microsoft Store: installer downloads are served from the Microsoft Store.
• Cloudflare: our licence and notification services run on Cloudflare Workers.

4. How we use your data

• Issuing, validating, renewing and supporting your licence.
• Detecting key sharing or misuse (per our licence terms).
• Service announcements: maintenance windows and important updates, shown on this site.

5. Retention

Licence and order records (email, key, device binding, exam events, order details) are kept for the life of your licence plus a reasonable period for support and fraud prevention. Support emails are kept as long as needed to resolve your request. Local app data is yours: uninstalling the app removes it from your machine.

6. Your rights

You can ask us what data we hold about you, ask for corrections, or ask for deletion of data that isn’t required to maintain your active licence or meet legal obligations. Email [email protected] from your registered address.
